May 6, 2008 - Recording

We've begun work on what could become a full length album, It's hard to say at this stage, but so far we've recorded the music for 7 new tracks down in Byron Bay. It's turning out pretty well so far and we're hoping for a couple more days in the studio to get some additional tracks down and then work on some vocals. No idea about what we have in mind for a release yet.

In other news, we are playing a benefit show this Friday night to help out with proceedings toward the unfortunate Daighila situation - it's also the first show for The Fourth is to burn warehouses featuring members of Orlacs Hande. And in 2 weeks No Culture III takes place with Ampere - exciting stuff.

Take Care, Leon

March 3, 2008 - Melbourne Revisited

So we return from a 4 day Melbourne trip after playing 2 exciting shows with our friends To The North, the tour gave us an opportunity to catch up with our friends down south and to show melbourne some of our new material. We have some new shirts for sale with Panda heads on them, i'd like to talk more about both these things but I'm running short on time. Message us if you want a shirt, EP, badge or whatever. In the meantime we have some more shows booked and are anxious to get back into the studio real soon.

Farewell for now, Leon

January 22, 2008 - A New Year

Quiet Steps have made it to 2008, we hope you all have too! we have been writing new material for the past couple of months and will continue to do so for the next couple. We'll be looking at recording probably the end of March with Dave, who will be also responsible for the next releases for To The North and his band In Sepia. At this stage, we'll be entering the studio again either for - another EP and Split release or possibly a full length. It all depends on how we go for time prior to recording and what the mood is after the tracking has been done.

We're heading down to Melbourne again in late Feb to play some shows, the dates are up on our myspace page. It'll only be for a few days, but it should be a whole lot of fun, so please come along and hang out + say hello.

In other saddish news, our good friends Orlacs Hande have broken up - One of the greatest and most emotionally captivating live bands in Australia. If you haven't heard them don't worry too much, their EP will still be coming out through Yellowghost Records sometime soon.

Until next time, Leon

November 22, 2007 - Time escapes us

Firstly, for anyone who may read this, or just ended up here via link exploration - my apologies for not keeping this thing up-to-date. It seems along with the 00 generation we've adopted the routine of carrying out our band related duties via MySpace and unfortunately leaving this website hibernating.

As for band progress, since Melbourne we've played a bunch of shows - one highlight being a show with the great La Quiete from Italy who were awesome. Not sure how our EP is going - we seem to sell a few copies here and there and still recieve nice messages about it. We're very much looking forward to releasing again and hope to make our next one much better in terms of song writing and musical exploration.

Thanks to everyone who are supporting us at the moment and keep in touch with us.

July 19, 2007 - Melbourne Overview

We’ve just retuned from our week long Melbourne trip and are both Amazed and saddened at the same time. We are Grateful to all the incredible people, shows and times that were had on the trip yet saddened for the fact that it's over and we’ll miss all our new friends.

Without making this ridiculously long, just want to quickly thank a few people. To The North for touring with us and making the whole experience fun and unpredictable. 383 for allowing the house show to take place - this was seriously a mind blowing experience and we are forever grateful to have been able to play here. Melbourne bands and people.. Quebec you guys are not just a really amazing band but also super great guys who have gone out of your way to make our experience better and we appreciate it so much. Majorca, can not believe what we witnessed here - can't wait for the Eucalypt split.. and James thanks so much for showing us awesome coffee shops and being great company, remember us when you come to Brisbane. Luca Brasi for being there (some of the time) thanks to Damo for the quick chat.
Fireships - thanks for attending our shows and being great dudes - Lloyd, Teo and all the crew - thanks to Stu, Tyson, Kayla, cale and jason.. anyone who came along to all of our shows or more than 1 show, and had to sit through basically the same set. Worms of the Earth for giving up your money to us to help us get home. Thanks to Brad and Mat for heading in (old school friends) and lending the Cab for the Missinglink show.

Special thanks to Kim (mine and Robb’s cousine) for letting us crash at his place, running around Melbourne chasing up gear for shows and putting up with our crap for a week. Also to Emily for occasional hospitality and accom from our point of view. Nick for the support, mixing of us and friendly chats. Karla for taking photos and sharing the trip with us. and most of all thanks to Tara for being there the whole time, organising practically everything, being the point of contact when things got confusing and doing all of this whilst getting both EP's organised and having them ready for the shows, promoting the shows throughout Melbourne and bringing so many incredible people together to not only make the whole experience possible, but make it friendly, fun and inspirational at the same time.

Thanks to YELLOW GHOST and anyone involved. Also to everyone who bought and EP, T-shirt or both.. It helps a lot and makes us want to keep writing music.

Our time in Melbourne has been one of the most inspiring and exciting periods in our lives and we all feel like we've made some really close new friends. We're all already missing Melbourne and everyone like crazy and can't wait to return.

Thanks and if I've missed anyone I'm sorry :)

See you again very soon Melbourne. Leon + Quite Steps

July 4, 2007 - Debut EP Finished pt2

Despite finishing our EP - we decided to re-record with Leigh(Night Crash/Drowned Out) at his studio Moments in Comedy. Leigh was amazing, we captured 4 new tracks after drinking a few beers and had such an incredible time doing so. The result was pretty much all we could have hoped for (despite the drunken instrumental and vocal mishaps) and now we've decided to release this as our Debut EP. The original recordings we will probably release later. The artwork looks awesome thanks to some designs taken from Aaron Burtch's collection. ALSO, we've just finished getting tshirts printed up, there will be both black and white designs which I'll post up here as soon as possible. 4 new badges will be available aswell. The tour with To The North kicks off next Tuesday 10th July 2007. We're all really really excited about Melbourne and the releases through Yellow Ghost records.

May 4, 2007 - Debut EP Finished

Okay, so we've finished it.. well it's recorded and currently being mastered. We completed it over 3 days at Core Studios which was pretty cool and a lot of fun. We faced a few hiccups along the way but are generally fairly happy with the result (we gotta start somewhere). Once the mastering is done, we'll try being as creative as possible for the artwork and organise all the packaging stuff which is happening through Yellow Ghost Records. The east coast tour is slowly being arranged for early July, which we predict will be incredible.

February 15, 2007 - New Beginnings

In the past few months we've made quite a bit of progress. For one, we have a new member 'Josh' on bass, which is totally cool. We've been playing shows accross Bris and writing a bunch of new songs which we're pretty keen on. We've been invited to submit a track to a Worldwide Screamo/DIY compilation CD being put out by Emuzah Records. There are some incredible bands going to be on it, so make sure you check that one out. In the coming weeks we're hoping to start looking at recording our new tracks for EP/Split (w/ever happens there), get some badges/tshirts/merch also arranged and look at the possibility of a Melbourne trip. When anything's solid we'll be posting it up here.

Keep Well / Leon

November 22, 2006 - A Start

I have finally had the chance to quickly throw up a website for Quiet Steps, currently we don't have a hell of a lot here to show, since most important information or show listings can be seen via our Myspace page. None the less - just last weekend we re-recorded our songs with Sound Noise Sound live from VIA Studios. Everything came together on the day and we were very pleased by the end. In a few more weeks we'll be looking at refining and mastering the tracks before planning some sort of release.

I'll add some more website content as soon as I get time. BONUS > we'll most likely be throwing a few tracks up here shortly for download, so be be afraid to check back for info and updates.

Keep Well / Leon
